Volunteers Week 2016 logo

Volunteers’ Week 2016 runs from 1st-12th June this year and is a time to celebrate all things volunteering! With over 100 volunteers helping us across the organisation, volunteers are crucial to everything we do!

We have people helping in all sorts of roles, from sorting stock and serving customers in our charity shops, to running activities like Job Club, IT Club and Arts Group, to providing basic money advice or helping us with admin.

We’ve been ‘bunting up’ our building for the occasion and saying a big THANK YOU! to all of our volunteers who help us through thick and thin throughout the year.

Volunteers who support our Community Engagement & Wellbeing team were shortlisted to be Birmingham’s Volunteer Team Of The Year and invited to attend the beautiful Blakesley Hall for the ceremony. Although we didn’t quite snatch the top prize, we are pleased to be recognised as a runner up in this category. With a free tour of Blakesley and plenty of free cake, we had a good day nonetheless! We certainly couldn’t run our services without their support and it was great to be in the running!

If you want to find out about volunteering please feel free to visit our Volunteer Hub on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1-3pm. We can help you look for volunteer opportunities around Birmingham, not just those at Birmingham Settlement.

Happy Volunteers’ Week!
