Community Action
Working closely with local residents and partners, we develop community action services to get people involved and engaged in what goes on in their neighbourhood. This is a broad area of our work, aiming to give people agency to shape their futures.
We do this through training and learning, social and wellbeing activities, User Voice Forums, and support to enable local people to lead activities and groups – providing the opportunity to engage at a higher level through volunteering.
Women’s ESOL Classes
We provide women’s ESOL classes from our Sports and Community Centre in Kingstanding, aimed at supporting newly arrived communities to feel settled in a supportive environment.

Community Health & Wellbeing
Working at the heart of our communities, we bring people together to be more active in their communities. Whether that’s joining a weekly class or group for a healthier lifestyle, through our community building events such as the Neighbourhood Futures Festival, or support to set-up a local group for mutual support and connection, we enable action for stronger and more resilient communities.
Birmingham Settlement Future Forum
Working alongside the University of Birmingham and the Bristol University Centre for Sociodigital Futures (CenSoF), the Future Forum was launched at the 2024 Neighbourhood Futures Festival, to gain insights to shape the spaces and places and services the Settlement provides for communities, putting community voices at the heart of what we do.
