FESTIVAL FAQS

FAQS
IS THE FESTIVAL TOTALLY FREE?

Yes! Everyone has the right to access to safe green space in the city and we are commited to open ad inclusive access eithout barriers. That being said as a charity, we appreciate any donations – no matter how big or small –  to support our work and help cover our costs! So if you can donate, donation buckets and QR codes will be on the door and around the festival, or you can make a voluntary donation on Eventbrite.

IS THE SITE ACCESSIBLE?

The site is wheelchair accessible, with accessible toilets and step-free access to main indoor spaces and much of the outdoor site. A lot of activity is on grass – ground may be uneven in places. If you have any specific access requirements e.g. parking get in touch and we will do our best to help.

WHAT TIME DOES IT OPEN AND CLOSE?

Our gates open to the public each morning from 10.30am. You are welcome to enjoy the space, grab a coffee, browse the community market stalls and take part in activites from this time. Programmed performances and main acts begin from around 11.30am – please check the individual day splits for all the timings. The festival ends on Saturday annd Sunday at 5pm. On Friday, we finish at 6.30pm.

CAN I PARK AT THE FESTIVAL?

We are a green festival so please consider walking, cycling, or using public transport. Our onsite carpark is reserved for disabled parking and festival staff drop-off only, you will need to find street parking if driving (parking nearby is free). Please note, we are located in a residential area, so please consider our neighbours! Busses run on Hagley Road, the 11 & 80 stop is on City Road (8 min walk). Five Ways train station is around a 25 minute walk away.

IS THERE FOOD & DRINK AVAILABLE?

Yes! You will be able to buy sandwiches, salads, samosas, curry pots, light bites, ice creams, snacks and hot and cold drinks from our Red Shed Community Cafe, supporting the work of our charity. You are also welcome to bring your own supplies to enjoy. Please note, strictly no alcohol is to be brought onto or consumed on site.

ARE THERE CHILDREN'S ACTIVITIES EVERY DAY?

Most of the family-friendly activities take place on our Community Play & Discovery Days on Saturday and Sunday, with child-friendly performances, Forest School activities, arts and crafts, sports, creative activities, storytelling, theatre and play. Friday has a slightly different focus, however while talks and workshops are primarily aimed at adults, our green space can be enjoyed by everyone, and children and their families are very welcome throughout the day – we have a small children’s play area plus sports and games will be available on the field. More dedicated family activities begin from 3pm for the community picnic on Friday. All children must be accompanied by adults and must be supervised in workshops and sessions by their grown-up at the festival.

IS THE FESTIVAL TOTALLY OUTDOORS?

Mostly. We have some covered areas, tents and a small cafe but a lot of the activity including main acts in the amphitheatre are not sheltered, so don’t forget sun cream, hats, waterproofs – everything you need in changing climates! Unless high winds and torrential, the festival will go ahead in rain (we do have some covered spaces) – please just allow some flexibility with the running order.

DO I NEED A TICKET TO ENTER?

Booking a ticket helps us keep track of numbers for catering purposes and festival logistics, so please use Eventbrite to select a ticket for the day!

WHAT IF IT RAINS?

We’ll still go ahead! Unless there are high winds and torrential rain the festival will still happen, albeit with some flexibility around performance times and movement of the schedule where needed. We have some covered spaces and tents. Please dress for the weather and come out to support us!

CAN I BRING MY DOG?

Sure!  Well behaved dogs on leads are very welcome to join in the festival fun!
