Settlement Shops

Our charity shops provide a vital source of income to Birmingham Settlement, enabling us to deliver our core services across the city. The shops also provide affordable goods to people in a welcoming environment.

Shop FrontKitts Green Front Feb 2016

Our first Settlement shop opened in 1975 in Sutton Coldfield and we now have three shops in North Birmingham.

Something old, something new…

Charity shops are treasure troves full of goods you thought you’d never find and ours are no different. As well as bagging yourself a bargain we have all sorts of interesting and quirky items in that could keep you pottering for hours!

If you’re the next Vivienne Westwood our shops are full of vintage clothing just waiting to be customised into the next big thing. Birmingham Settlement’s charity shops are not just a place to get second hand items but you can also buy a range of brand new products, novelty items and collectables.

How to donate

Sutton Christmas

Clothing, toys, books, DVDs and bric-a-brac of all types are accepted and can be taken to your nearest store. Electrical goods can be donated to all Birmingham Settlement shops. We carry out a full PAT test on goods prior to putting them on sale but would ask that only working items are donated.

For more details about donations, collections or volunteering at one of our shops, please contact your local Settlement shop.

Unfortunately we are unable to take items of furniture or collect donations from your home. We are also unable to take items that are in unsaleable condition. Please discuss with the shop staff before making your donation if you are unsure about the suitability of the items you wish to donate.

Gift Aid

Sutton SpringGift Aid enables us to claim 25% of the amount that your donated goods are sold for back from HMRC. This doesn’t cost you a penny but makes your donation go even further. If you are a UK taxpayer, let your local shop manager know and they’ll take a few details. Once the items you donated have sold we will get in touch with you to let you know how much extra we have been able to generate in Gift Aid – simple!

Opening times

All three shops are open Mondays to Saturdays, 9am to 4.50pm – please contact your local shop if you need to confirm opening times.
