Children and Families Services

Our dedicated Little Settlers team deliver activities to support the wellbeing and development of children (0-5s) and their families, parents or carers. Using the Early Years Foundation Stage, sessions include reading, writing, singing and sensory play to promote the social, emotional and personal development of children. Families also have the opportunity to build valuable peer and community support networks.

Free Sessions

Our Little Settlers Kingstanding sessions are open to children 0-5 and their parents/guardians. Sessions are free and are designed to support learning, improve English skills and develop social skills.

Little Settlers Nature Club

Our Little Settlers Nature Club at our dedicated Nature and Wellbeing Centre provides free sessions for outdoor learning and play in nature. Little Settlers Nature Club: Tuesdays 10am – 12pm is open to children 0-5 and their parents/guardians. Sessions are free and are designed to connect children and their families to nature, to play, learn and explore in the great outdoors. Little Settlers also offers a valuable source of support for the wider family, giving you the chance to meet other parents and develop friendships and support networks, increase your confidence and find ways to support your children’s learning at home too.

What Our Families Think

Little Settlers, formerly titled Stay, Learn & Play, are a valuable indication of the positive impact this service has on our local communities.

Stay and Play has been fantastic for my little one. He and I enjoy it so much. It helped my little one to socialize more and learn to share.

We’ve been coming to the play sessions for a couple of years now and honestly, I don’t know where we would be without the staff here. The kids love coming here and are always so excited and have so much fun.

Before attending Play and Stay sessions, I was very nervous about taking my child into an environment with other children. After attending a few sessions [my child] felt very comfortable, at ease and looked forward to the sessions.

Stay and Play has given my daughter an opportunity to be more vocal and mix with other children. It has given her a lot of confidence and given her the ability to share. She plays with a wide range of things that she wouldn’t usually play with at home.

Stay and Play is really good. My child really enjoys to come here. Staff are really friendly and helpful.

Today was my Imtiaz’s first day of Pre School. A new chapter of his life begins. Many many thanks to Stay and Play as it helped him be more confident and independent. Thanks to Stay and Play he settled in very well today.
