Nature Lover

Calling all green-fingered and great outdoors enthusiasts! Join us and help look after our green spaces for the benefit of our communities and the planet.

Our Friends of the Field volunteer group supports the ongoing development of the green spaces at our Nature and Wellbeing Centre in Ladywood and our Sports and Community centre in Kingstanding. These are valued community spaces, protecting and enhancing the natural environment for future generations. Because both sites are developing, there are always jobs to be done!

Opportunities include general site maintenance such as:

  • Planting
  • Composting
  • Weeding
  • Mowing
  • Litter picking
  • Hedgerows and fencing
  • Light building works
  • Conservation activities and habitat creation.

You will be supporting activities to encourage learning, protect nature and wildlife and enhance wellbeing for all.

No experience is necessary but an interest in the natural world, a can-do attitude and the ability to be outdoors in all weathers will help. Activities can be tailored to suit ability and skill, and training will be provided where necessary. Volunteers will be supervised.
