Mental Health Awareness
Half day / 3.5 hours

It is estimated that approximately one in four people will experience a mental health problem in any given year. Chances are if we are not directly affected by a mental health condition, we will have a family member, friend or colleague who is. It touches all of our lives.

This half day training (3.5 hours) is suitable for anyone interested in learning more about mental health and wellbeing. The training will include: defining mental health, mental illness and mental wellbeing; the most common mental health conditions including signs and symptoms; factors impacting on mental health; responding to a mental health ‘crisis’ and the support interventions most effective in promoting mental wellbeing and recovery.

This half day training can be extended to a full day to include areas such as: the Mental Health Act and ‘sectioning’, and how psychiatric medications work, including side effects. Please contact our trainer for further details: training@bsettlement.org.uk
