We are SO excited to share that Birmingham Settlement are starting a no-cost community Forest School!
ABOUT ROOTS…
A SPACE TO PLAY, LEARN, GROW & BE TOGETHER
Roots is a Forest School for everyone. We particularly welcome local families new to Forest School, and/or with limited access to safe outdoor spaces.
Sessions are aimed at children aged 2-5 years with their grown-ups (non-walkers are welcome to attend with any older children) and take place at the Birmingham Settlement Nature & Wellbeing Centre, 79 Selwyn Road, Edgbaston Reservoir, B16 0SL.
Our child-led sessions blend exploratory play with growing and gardening projects set in a beautiful, tucked away green space next to Edgbaston Reservoir. Embracing the simple curiosities of childhood, we welcome you to take root and play, learn and grow with us.
Our Forest School site has a small woodland area to jump and climb in, next to a veggie patch and polytunnel for planting and growing.
We’ll make paint from blackberries, fly on sticks, mix up marvellously muddy creations in the mud kitchen and we’ll learn to nurture and grow new things, getting little fingers in the dirt and seeds in the ground.
Come and join us on Mondays from 10:30am-12pm for play, craft, and the freedom to roam and explore with a campfire to finish.
Booking is essential. No cost, but donations always appreciated. Made possible with funding from the Heritage Lottery.
