Are you interested in how indoor and outdoor nature-connection activities boost health and wellbeing?
Would you like to learn how to deliver a simple nature-based activity to the individuals your organisation supports?
FREE Train-the-Trainer sessions for Birmingham-based VCFSEs and health workers interested in integrating nature-based activities into their current mental health and wellbeing support services.
Delivered in partnership with Natural England, ecobirmingham and Birmingham Settlement, join us to develop your skills, knowledge and confidence in delivering a nature-based activity to the groups and communities you support.
- Receive a free Train the Trainer session at Birmingham Settlement’s tranquil Nature & Wellbeing Centre at Edgbaston Reservoir, delivered by ecobirmingham.
- Each participant will learn practical skills such as seed sowing and growing.
- Get the skills to enable you to replicate nature-based activities in your own settings to support the mental health and wellbeing of service users and communities.
- Participants will be taught how to ensure the nature-based activity can be adapted to suit service user needs and interests.
- No greenspace or prior experience is necessary—balcony and windowsill planting will be covered.
Resources and a follow-up support and networking session will be provided to help deliver your own sessions and share experiences.
Please note:
- Each trainee will be asked to deliver at least one session in their own setting before mid-March 2025, as this will help us assess the project’s impact and support organisations going forwards.
- Project currently only open to Birmingham-based VCFSEs providing mental health and wellbeing support (could also include community/youth centres offering support).
- If oversubscribed, priority will be given to underrepresented organisations and those without current access to nature-based resources or greenspace.
Sessions will be held on either Wednesday 16th October 2024, or Wednesday 13th November 2024 1pm-4pm.
