A couple of weeks ago we hosted our very first (but certainly not last!!) Neighbourhood Futures Festival to officially launch our Edgbaston Reservoir Nature & Wellbeing Centre at 79 Selwyn Road Playing Fields. The week was focused around climate change, exploring the ways in which we can combat this global issue within our own communities. We had a range of workshops, performances and activities hosted by various partners such as The University of Birmingham, The Wildlife Trust and Civic Square. It was great to see so many people come together to discuss important issues, sharing unique perspectives as well as exploring various solutions that are accessible and applicable on a smaller community scale.
The week concluded with a family fun day to celebrate the site launch with such an exciting and insightful week! This consisted of more workshops and performances as well as plenty of arts & crafts, sports, games and of course a bouncy castle! We received great feedback on the week and look forward to seeing visitors again as activities resume and our Tearoom remains open at the site. Keep an eye on our website and social media for regular updates on what’s going on at the site as we have plenty of exciting opportunities to come!
