As well as our 610 community centre in Kingstanding, our Aston centre opened on 9th January as part of Birmingham’s warm welcome initiative. We will be providing a warm, safe space which connects our communities so no one has to struggle alone during the cold winter months. One of our specialist money advisors and a member of the community action team will be available to offer advice and support 5 days per week Monday to Friday. We will also be offering free hot drinks and biscuits. The Kingstanding place of warm welcome will be open from 10am-2pm and Aston will be open from 9.30 am to 4pm each as warm welcome spaces (our usual opening hours and timetabled activities still apply). In addition the 610 community centre will also open on Saturday’s 10am-4pm with Foodcycle offering a free warm meal.
