Good Question and here’s our chief exec explaining….
For some several decades, the Settlement has had ownership of a 3-acre Playing Field next
to Edgbaston Reservoir. Until recently, the field was pretty inactive and so we have looked at
ways to unlock its potential. With our partners, we have put on various pop up events over the
past 2 years which have demonstrated a real appetite for more activities and better access
to the field.
After lots of consultation with the local Ladywood community and with planning permission
now in place, we began the build of what will be a Community Wellbeing Centre with the
process expected to complete in summer 2021. Here are som very muddy picture from December 2020
Our vision is to create a secure space that will host a programme of wellbeing activities and provide access to shelter and loos to make the field a much more flexible space and enable the community to access it on a more ongoing basis.
And we’re not stopping there! We are planning wider developments to transform the site into
a sustainable and vibrant community resource- take a look at the video to see what they are.
