Ageing Better

18-04-2019

On 29th March, some of our Ageing Well group attended the ‘Spring Forward’ over 50s event at Austin Court near Brindley Place. The event was part of the Ageing Better programme in Birmingham, and celebrated the lives of residents over 50 years old. Our service users took part in different workshops including Bollywood dancing, art work and discussion groups and they all had a great day. One even said “I don’t want to go home!”. Thanks to Groundwork West Midlands and Birmingham Voluntary Service Council for organising the day.

We look forward to next year’s event but in the meantime our own Ageing Well group at Birmingham Settlement offers a range of activities each week, both at our Aston Centre and at our community hub in Kitts Green. Activities include Chair Yoga, Dance class, Art class, Tai Chi and trips throughout the year!. For more info, contact Andy Farrer in the Aston Centre on 0121 250 0714 or 07535524113; or call Lisa Storey in the Kitts Green hub on 0121 603 8924.
