Whether it be financial hardship, social isolation, unemployment, or other issues, we provide independent advice and support, wellbeing activities, and training and development opportunities that enable people to gain new skills, build confidence and establish social and community networks that create opportunity and improve lives. 

The Money Advice Volunteer Reception/ Administration Assistant will focus on assisting the Money Advice Team with their daily roles. You will be led and supported by our Money Advice Service Manager, Jelena Dukic.

We are looking for people who have a passion to help others. From our Money Advice office in Newtown we deliver advice /support relating to Welfare Benefits and Debts and also offer training to professionals around these areas. We need a Volunteer Reception and Administration Assistant to support us in daily tasks including:

  • Welcoming clients
  • Answering general enquiries
  • Taking room bookings
  • Sorting post
  • Filing
  • Liaising with staff when clients arrive
  • Dealing with telephone calls and enquiries
  • Data Inputting

This role is flexible, you can volunteer as many/ few hours as suits your schedule. Minimum 3-hour slots, days and times to be agreed.

Requirements for this role:

  • Aged over 18
  • Friendly approachable manner and must be able to communicate with people of all ages, needs and backgrounds with an impartial attitude
  • A calm and patient approach is required
  • Can work with others as part of a team
  • Are reliable, flexible, honest, and mature
  • Able to maintain confidentiality
