Money Advice Caseworker

£14,616 pa, initial funding to March 2011 (extension subject to funding)
21 hours per week (3 full days, flexible)
27 days A/L + contributory pension scheme

 

Birmingham Settlement’s Money Advice Services are targeted primarily for people tackling multiple debt problems. We deliver advice on a self help basis, equipping people with the knowledge and skills they need to tackle debt problems themselves, providing additional support through casework and representation where required.


Working in partnership with CAB as part of the DTI's Financial Inclusion Fund, we are looking to recruit a Money Advice Caseworker. Experience of delivering effective debt and benefit advice along with flexibility, commitment and a willingness to learn are essential requirements for this post.

You will also need to demonstrate:

  • The ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with clients
  • Effective negotiating skills
  • Good written and numerical skills
  • Effectve IT skills and the ability to use a variety of standard packages
  • An organised approach to work
