Job Club
Tuesdays 1pm – 3pm
Thursdays 1pm – 3pm

Getting into work for the first time or after a long absence can seem daunting. Where do I start, what job is right for me, where do I look are likely to be just a few of the questions going around your mind. Through one to one and group support we break down this challenge, to help you identify your skills and appropriate career options, complete job applications and CVs, do practise interviews and learn how to use the internet effectively to find work. We aim to give you the confidence and skills you need to successfully gain employment.

With the support of volunteers, Job Club runs twice a week with a ‘drop-in’ style session offered every Tuesday and more specialist support delivered during Thursday sessions.

If you need help in your job search please come and see us during Job Club. For more information please contact Rob onRobert.netherway@bsettlement.org.uk or 0121 250 0764.

Volunteer Hub
Tuesdays 1pm – 3pm

Birmingham Settlement was chosen by Birmingham Voluntary Services Council to run the local Volunteer Hub and we now run weekly Volunteer Hub sessions alongside Job Club every Tuesday afternoon. Through Volunteer Hub we promote a range of volunteering opportunities with organisations across Birmingham, helping to match potential volunteers to the each role.

Volunteering is an excellent way to help you get into the world of work, whether for the first time, after a long absence or if you are looking for a change in career. Perhaps you have some spare time on your hands and want to fill your time sharing your skills and doing something good for your local community; volunteering could be for you. Volunteering is also a great way to reduce isolation and meet new people. If you are interested in finding out more about opportunities available near you, why not pop in and see us or give us a call to find out more.
