Birmingham Training Unit

Birmingham Training Unit (BTU), formerly Birmingham Tribunal Unit, formed a mutual partnership with Birmingham Settlement in 2014 and we now work together as one towards common goals.

Established in the 1970s BTU has a longstanding history of providing specialist training, advice and support in welfare benefits law.
Since developing the partnership with Birmingham Settlement, BTU has expanded its training provision building on the expertise of both organisations. BTU also continues to deliver welfare benefits training and over the coming year plans to continue introducing a variety of new training courses.

BTU also offers support in relation to welfare benefit appeal tribunals and has introduced a number of early intervention programmes designed to empower and raise awareness among claimants about the claiming and appeals process.
