p1040782Birmingham Settlement are pleased to welcome DiVas, the support group for women run by local women in and around Kitts Green.

Our shop and community hub in Kitts Green is the place to drop in every Wednesday from 10am for anyone who would just like a chat, meet other people and find out what’s going on in the area.  DiVas volunteers’ offer a friendly sympathetic ear and a signposting service so no matter the issue, from housing repairs through to domestic abuse they will know who can best provide you with the support you need.

Alison, the group’divas-pngs Chair said, “I’m really happy that DiVas has a new home and am
very much looking forward to working closely with Birmingham Settlement.  I’m very passionate about our self-help group and supporting and empowering women to make a difference to their lives because after all you can’t lead a positive life with a negative mind.”

Dominic Taylor, Birmingham Settlement’s Senior Community Action Worker in Shard End said; “The thing I like the most about DiVas is that they understand.  They have been through crises themselves and are not judging anyone who comes through the door.  It might only be a peer support group but it goes a long way when you feel you don’t have anywhere else to turn.”

If you would like to know more about DiVas then why not drop in Wednesday from 10am or call the team on 0121 603 8924.
